The MOST Project

The contest is promoted by the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST) and directly supported through NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) funds. The program’s mission is to finance and consolidate highly technological entities that develop modern, sustainable, and inclusive mobility solutions. Thanks to this initiative, the selected startups integrate into a broad ecosystem that brings together dozens of Italian universities, research centers, and large enterprises.​

The Impact of Video Analytics

Synapsi’s proprietary technologies allow the analysis of complex video streams in real time to extract operational and strategic data. Applied to mobility, the company’s Artificial Intelligence helps dynamically monitor traffic, prevent accidents, and optimize the management of city transportation networks. The new capital will directly support the phases of intensive research, technical development, and commercial validation of these intelligent systems.

The pilot is inspired by the British “Yellow Box” model used in the UK to prevent blockage of the busiest intersections. The developed system identifies in real time vehicles stopped in the center of the intersection due to congestion and immediately sends a signal to the traffic control center.

Through automated video analysis, the system can detect critical situations, monitor traffic flow dynamics, and assist operators in making timely decisions to reduce slowdowns and improve traffic fluidity.

A step toward truly adaptive traffic lights

At the end of the pilot, a direct integration phase with smart traffic lights is planned, allowing for dynamic adjustment of traffic light timings based on signals generated by AI. This approach will enable adapting intersection behavior to actual road conditions with the goal of reducing congestion and wait times.

The collaboration with Roma Servizi per la Mobilità represents an important step toward modernizing urban mobility systems in the capital and confirms the potential of Computer Vision technologies to improve the quality of public services.

The event featured 12 selected startups, ready to present their innovative solutions in front of an audience made up of businesses, institutions, stakeholders, and citizens. It was a moment of exchange and networking, dedicated to discovering technologies capable of concretely improving everyday life for the community.

Synapsi’s proposal

Synapsi presented a Computer Vision solution designed to integrate with Rome’s existing traffic light infrastructure. The system enables the acquisition of real-time traffic data through cameras and sensors connected to traffic lights, but it goes beyond simple data collection: thanks to an intelligent analysis engine, the platform can dynamically adjust traffic light cycles, helping to reduce congestion and optimize vehicle flow.

The modular architecture of the solution allows for progressive and scalable implementation, paving the way for additional features such as accident detection and priority management for emergency vehicles. Synapsi’s goal is to provide a concrete tool to support urban mobility, improving quality of life and reducing the environmental impact of traffic.

A step toward the second phase

The Pitch Day represented a key moment for all participating startups. In the coming days, the organization will announce which companies will advance to the second phase of the AcceleraImpresa 2025 program. Synapsi eagerly awaits the verdict, confident that it has put forward a proposal with high technological and social value for Rome.
